HTC's 2017 flagship lineup features two notable devices - the HTC U Ultra and the HTC U Play. A new leak reports of another upcoming device to add to the U variants. The new device, which is noted to be named as HTC U "Ocean," will follow the steps of 2016's HTC 10 flagship device.

HTC U "Ocean" is expected to offer the same technology, which was featured in a concept video revealed in 2016. The new technology revealed by an HTC designer in September will be referred to as Edge Sense (or Sense Touch) technology.

GSM Arena reported that HTC U "Ocean" will feature Edge Sense, which lets users control the smartphone's custom actions using gestures, surprisingly on the metal frame and not the screen. Further reports suggested that users will be able to swipe or squeeze the left and right sides of the device's frame to perform various customized actions.

HTC U "Ocean" will offer this exclusive feature with the usual features found on most of the flagship devices of 2017, reports GSM Arena. The Taiwanese company notes of the phone specifications to incorporate a 5.5-inch QHD display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. Users should be pleased to know that the device will feature Android 7.1 (Nougat) with the HTC Sense Touch 9 UI on top. The device will reportedly offer 64 or 128GB variants with an expandable slot.

Venture Beat reported that s far as the camera on the HTC U "Ocean" is concerned, the primary one is a 12MP shooter with a Sony IMX362 sensor, while the front-facing camera is noted to be 16MP with Sony's IMX351 sensor. The company further noted that the device will be revealed by the end of April and will be ready for sale early May.
