T-Mobile is rolling out a Nougat update to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, which was promised a few days ago. However, latest reports say that Galaxy Tab S2 on T-Mobile is also getting the Nougat update.
According to Android Police, T-Mobile has updated its software docs for all three devices, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy Tab S2, which doesn't offer much in the way of detail. The Android 7.0 Nougat update to the said devices adds a native multi-window feature to the OS, which ensures that more apps can be used in a split-screen mode. In the meantime, users may also experience better battery life as the Android Nougat includes an enhanced version of its Doze feature.
The updated firmware version G920TUVU5FQE1 and G925TUVU5FQE1 has been launched by T-Mobile for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, respectively. However, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 owners on T-Mobile should keep an eye out for firmware version T817TUVU2BQE2. All of the features which comes part and parcel of Android 7.0 Nougat are included in the update for all three devices.
The Android Nougat update weighs in at 1270MB for the S6 and 1290MB for the Edge variant and brings along Android OS version 7.0. Aside from the smartphone, the Android 7.0 Nougat update, which has started hitting T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, weighs at 1006.80MB. Given that the roll out is OTA, it may take some time for the update to hit every Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy Tab S2 device, as reported by GSM Arena.
T-Mobile is rolling out these firmware updates over-the-air (OTA) so it may take a couple of days before they arrive for all users across the United States. However, the user can also check the update manually by heading to the update menu in your device settings if the OTA has not already appeared.
