OnePlus revealed its plans to hold a launch event for the OnePlus 5 on June 20 at 12:00 PM EDT. However, ahead of launch, a brand new press render of the upcoming Flagship Killer has appeared online revealing about its design and camera.
The press renders provided to Android Police is similar to other recent leaks, viewing a horizontal dual camera on the upper-left corner of the device's back side. With the flash sitting just to the right of the rear cameras and the positioning of the front-facing camera on the flip side of the device, the OnePlus 5 looks pretty much like the iPhone 7 Plus.
The leaked render also hints that OnePlus rounded off the sides of the phone, which should make the OnePlus 5 better to hold in the hand at the cost of it being somewhat slippery. Other observations include the matte black color, which might be standard instead of a limited edition option as it was with the OnePlus 3T and the continued use of the mute switch.
Another render appeared on Slashleaks. While it might not be as precise a representation of the final product, it appears to have many of the same features.
The iPhone 7 Plus is a successful smartphone, so it's not surprising to see other phone makers inspired by its design. However, it's worth taking these leaks with a grain of salt, but most of the recent leaks seem to back up this design.
As mentioned above, these leaked renders of the OnePlus 5 look incredibly similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. Renders show OnePlus 5 features a matte black paint job, a dual-camera setup located in the upper left corner, and antenna bands that are positioned around the top and bottom edges of the device.
