OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has indicated in a post on Weibo that upcoming OnePlus 5 will be the thinnest flagship ever. OnePlus 5 is the new flagship from the company that will release in the summer, and most people are assuming this means the June timeline.
In the Weibo post, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that upcoming flagship will be thinnest ever. Lau's post reads, "OnePlus 5 I believe it is the thinnest flagship phone and did not sacrifice other use experience. This is the daily pondering, and constantly adjust the value of the output after 0.05mm," as reported by Indian Express.
It's not clear if the CEO talks about all flagship phones on the market or just about OnePlus smartphones. However, it is certainly assumed that the OnePlus 5 will be thinner than the 7.35 mm OnePlus 3T, thus becoming the company's skinniest high-end smartphone to date. The 6.9mm-thin OnePlus X doesn't count, since it wasn't a flagship model, according to Phone Arena.
OnePlus 5 is rumored to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and the company has already confirmed this. The upcoming flagship killer will boast 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage along with an option for 128GB storage as well. Previous leaks have also suggested that the smartphone could come in the 8GB RAM. For the display side, upcoming OnePlus 5 is said to stick with the same 5.5-inch full HD resolution display.
On the camera front, OnePlus is expected to make a big change. According to latest leaks and reports, OnePlus 5 will have a dual rear camera, but there's some confusion over how this will be aligned. Several reports have claimed that OnePlus 5 will feature a vertically stacked rear camera, but some leaked images claim that device will have a horizontal stacked dual rear camera.
