The Essential Phone was launched by the Essential Company on Tuesday. The father of Android, aka Andy Rubin has unveiled an extremely beautiful near bezel-less device with powerful specifications. The device is ready to go against the devices from the current tech giants like the Apple, Samsung, Google etc.
The first phone just named as Essential Phone with a model number PH-1 takes on with the current ruling Apple iPhone 7 Plus smartphone in terms of specifications and features.
Display: According to CNET, the Essential Phone sports a 5.7-inch LTPS display with a resolution of 2,560 pixels by 1,312 pixels having a borderline Quad-HD. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus carries a 5.5-inch LED screen with IPS technology having a resolution of 1,920 pixels by 1,080 pixels.
Dimension: The Essential Phone measures 142mm x 71mm x 7.8 mm and weighs 185 grams. On the other hand, the Apple iPhone 7 Plus measures 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3mm and weighs 188 grams.
Processor, RAM, GPU, & Storage: The Essential Phone is powered by the latest and powerful Qualcomm processor known as the Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 2.45 GHz and coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. The processor is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage with no option of further expansion.
According to Apple, the iPhone 7 Plus is powered by a quad-core A10 Fusion chip with 64-bit architecture clocked at 2.34 GHz having an embedded M10 motion coprocessor. It comes with 3GB of RAM, PowerVR Series7XT Plus GPU for graphics and 32GB/128GB/256GB of onboard storage.
Camera & Battery: The Essential Phone runs on features a dual camera set up on the rear with two 13-megapixel sensors capable of capturing 4K videos. Out of the two sensors, one is standard RGB while the other is monochrome. It also has an 8-megapixel front camera, a fingerprint scanner on the back and a 3,040mAh battery.
The Apple iPhone 7 Plus also carries a dual camera set up with two 12MP sensors capable of capturing 4K videos. The device also features a 7-megapixel front camera, a fingerprint sensor in the home button and a 2,900mAh battery.
Other Features: The Essential Phone runs on an unspecified version of Android. It is reported that it will support Andy Rubin's home-grown version of a smart/virtual assistant. The device comes with 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C for charging and data syncing.
The Apple iPhone 7 Plus runs on latest iOS 10 version and has a digital assistant- Siri supporting many languages. It comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, Assisted GPS and GLONASS, iBeacon micro-location, lightening connector and digital compass.
Price & Colors: The Essential Phone is reported to have a price tag of $699. The device will be available in Black Moon, Stellar Grey, Pure White and Ocean Depths colors. On the other hand, the Apple iPhone 7 Plus has price tags of $769, $869 and $969 for 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB variants. This device is available in Rose Gold, Gold, Silver, Black and Jet Black colors. It shall be noted that the pricing of the device may vary in different tech markets around the globe.
