After the Xiaomi Mi 6, it looks like Xiaomi is working on another variant of the flagship device. The rumored variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6 has been spotted on benchmarking website GFXBench. According to the listing, the smartphone sports identical specifications as the Mi 6, with the exception of the processor.
A new Xiaomi Mi 6c smartphone with the code name "Jason" has been spotted in benchmarks tipping that another smartphone might be on the cards. The Chinese company has in the past launched different alternates of its flagship smartphone in various markets. Some of the previous flagship variants include Xiaomi Mi 4c and Xiaomi Mi 5c among others.
According to NDTV, one of the highlights of the new alleged Xiaomi Jason aka Xiaomi Mi 6c is said to feature the new Snapdragon 660 processor and the smartphone could very well be among the first few devices getting the new chipset. The all-new Snapdragon 660 mobile platform is based on a 14nm FinFET process and provides 4K video capture and playback capabilities, along with 8GB maximum memory and Vulkan API support. In addition, the Snapdragon 660 mobile platform supports displays up to QHD (2K) resolution, whereas the 630 supports FHD/QXGA (1080p).
According to the leaked benchmark, the alleged Xiaomi Jason aka Xiaomi Mi 6c will be having an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with 6GB RAM and will have 64GB internal storage. The Xiaomi Mi 6c will be of 5.1-inch full-HD display and will run MIUI based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
On the camera front, the alleged Xiaomi Mi 6c will sport a 12-megapixel rear camera alongside a 4-megapixel front camera. It's worth pointing out that the alleged Xiaomi Mi 6c could very well launch with a different name. The GFXBench listing was first spotted by GizmoChina.
For the price, the current available Xiaomi Mi 6 starts from RMB 2,499 and if the leaked specs are to be believed, the upcoming variant of device, which is Xiaomi Mi 6c will be having lower price tag than the flagship model. Stay tuned to Droid Report from more update.
