‘Injustice 2’ Makes Available ‘Wonder Woman’ Gear For Participants Of Multiverse Event

May 30, 2017 05:24 AM EDT

Ahead of the opening of the “Wonder Woman” movie on June 2, starring Gal Gadot, “Injustice 2” is holding a multiverse event titled “To End All Wars.” Players of the game on console and mobile phones will have a chance to win Wonder Woman items by unlocking content based on the film.

The multiverse event runs from May 30 through June 2. During this four-day period, “Injustice 2” gamers who play its console version will receive the Wonder Woman gear. Those who would play the game on a mobile phone will get Wonder Woman cards and full gear set based on the movie, GameSpot reports.

Comic Book explains that the multiverse event is a special single-player mode in “Injustice 2.” The players must fight through several matches with special conditions. The conditions include using specific characters. There are also tougher multiverse challenges characterized by the addition of special environment hazards or boons for the gamer and the opponent.

Reports did not provide more details about the multiverse event in “Injustice 2.” But Comic Book assumes the character to be played will be Wonder Woman, while it expects a surprise villain or partner cameos. The actual fighters may not be brand new characters, although the website does not discount the possibility that the new characters are tied in as assist powers.

Game Rant reports that since a multiverse event was created in “Injustice 2” to promote “Wonder Woman” the movie, a similar event is expected in fall before the film “Justice League” would show in theaters. Gamers could expect superhero gears such as that of Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg to be unlocked by playing the game.

The mobile version of “Injustice 2” is free with microtransactions on iOS and Android gadget. The game is also available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
