Along with the launch on Wednesday of the DJI Spark Drone, the Chinese manufacturer also released GO 4. It is a new iOS control app that features four new automated flight modes which allow the user of the mini drone to pull off advanced flight maneuvers.
When GO 4’s automated flight mode is used, it begins on Active track that allows the Spark Drone to focus on ay moving object within the frame. The first mode is Pano which is an automated stitching software tool that allows the pilot to capture panoramas. The second mode, ShallowFocus, is an exaggerated depth-of-field shot, while the third is TapFly that hovers and tracks a target. The fourth, Gesture, uses hand movements to take videos or selfie images, Tech Crunch reported.
The GO 4 comes with photo/video filters, automated editing, and exporting/uploading to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social networks. A sensor cocktail is made of GPS/GLONASS, a 3D sensing system, and a vision positioning system for in-flight stability. The Spark Drone is available in five colors of Alpine White, Sky Blue, Meadow Green, Lava Red, and Sunrise Yellow, according to The Video Mode.
The Quickshot Intelligent Flight Mode of the Spark Drone has four settings to choose from. One is the Rocket to send the mini drone straight up in the air with its camera pointed down. With Dronie, it flies up and away from the subject, while Circle will rotate the drone around the subject. The fourth, Helix, will result in the mini drone spiraling away from a subject while the Spark flies upward.
Spark Drone weighs only 300 grams which makes the new mini drone small enough to take off from the hand, PC Advisor notes. The basic package costs $499, while for $699, the combo package offers a remote control, extra battery, extra propellers, and a shoulder bag.
