LG V10 recently received its Android 7.0 Nougat update in South Korea. The software update comes with version number v30d, which brings LG's all-new UX 5.0+ to the nearly two-year old device.
According to GSM Arena, the LG V10 originally launched with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop way back in 2015, and later received its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update last year. As for the latest update, it is only available for three carrier-locked versions of the phone; the LGF600S on SK Telecom, the LGF600K on KTF, and the LGF600L on LG U+. Users can install the latest software on their perspective devices using LG Bridge.
According to Phone Arena, this latest software update for LG V10 will also offer several new features to the smartphone which includes native multi-window support, a newly designed notification shade, and the ability to adjust the size of on-screen objects and icons. Android Nougat for LG V10 also brings some decent improvements over Android 6.0 in terms of battery optimization.
However, there's still no official statement from the company of when the new software will be rolled out to users around the globe, LG V10 owners must expect that it would likely happen over the next few weeks as long as no major bugs are reported. Meanwhile, the LG Company has also promised to roll out Android Nougat to its other premium device from 2015 models such as LG G4.
The UX 5.0+ which is LG's latest take on Android was first seen on the LG V10 last year. It is pretty similar to UX 5.0 for the most part, but it comes with a few extra apps such as Smart Doctor and LG Health. As for the former device, it is evidently a health0oriented app that brings activity tracking features such as the ability to count the number of jumps with a jumping rope, which later became to be a phone manager app that helps manage the phone's RAM usage and the monitor CPU usage.
