Xiaomi Mi Max 2 smartphone is officially launched and will be available next month in the China's tech market. The Chinese tech giant has incredibly made the successor of Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone, which was launched in July last year. Enthusiasts should know the changes and upgrades made by the company in Mi Max 2 over Mi Max in-order to buy this amazing piece of device.
Design and Display: The ieTechnology cites that the newly launched Xiaomi Mi Max 2 sports a metal unibody with a U-shaped antenna design giving perfect aesthetics to the phone. It can be seen that the Mi Max 2 has rounded edges when compared to the sharper profile on the Mi Max. The common features like the fingerprint sensor, the camera, and flash are positioned in the same spots as found in the Xiaomi Mi Max.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has dimensions measuring to 174.1 x 88.7 x 7.6mm and weighs 211grams, while the Xiaomi Mi Max measures to 173.1 x 88.3 x 7.5mm and weighs 203 grams. The device features the same 6.44-inch full HD resolution (1920×1080 pixels) but has reduced the side bezels on the front face of the device.
Hardware: According to The Mobile Indian, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz and has 14nm FinFET design. It is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage and can be further more expanded to 128GB via microSD card.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 device is equipped with a powerful 5,300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and parallel charging. This charging technology is claimed to take the charge from 0 percent to 68 percent in one hour and the company claims that the device has a battery life of two days with 57 hours of talktime and 18 hours of video playback. It runs on Android Nougat with MIUI 8 on top. It also includes "One-handed mode", and is reported to get the "Split screen" feature in coming future.
The Xiaomi Mi Max is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. It is paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/128GB storage and can be further more expanded to 128GB via microSD card. This device is equipped with a smaller 4,850mAh battery but still offers a two days battery life. It runs on Android Marshmallow operating system with MIUI 7 on top.
Camera: The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a 12MP rear camera having Sony IMX386 sensor with 1.25μm large pixel size for low-light performance. The front camera has a 5MP with 85-degree wide-angle view sensor for selfies. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi Max was launched with a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 lens and phase detection, autofocus features. The front camera has a 5MP with f/2.0 lens for selfies.
Price: The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 with 64GB storage has a price tag of 1,699 Yuan, while the 128GB variant has a price tag of 1,999 Yuan. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3GB variant has a price tag of 1,600 Yuan, while the 4GB variant has a price tag of 2,130 Yuan.
