First iPhone 8 Dummy Video Surfaces With Features In Line With Many Rumors About Device

A dummy iPhone 8 model surface on video. Its design drawings and edge-to-edge display with glass body in a stainless steel frame seem to confirm rumors that surfaced about the upcoming Apple smartphone. The dummy gadget, believed to be a CNC model, has no Home button and visible Touch ID sensor which suggests it would be built into the display, again in line with speculations about the phone.

The dummy iPhone 8 model also shows a dual-lens rear camera that was in a vertical orientation. However, the dummy lacks the Apple logo, MacRumors notes. If it is the final design that Apple chose, the tech website does not match the schematics and design drawings of the alleged iPhone 8 rumored to be thicker than the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

But the dummy iPhone 8 on the video is only one set of design that MacRumors have seen. Another design features an aluminum body and a rear Touch button under the Apple logo. The second design is a fallback for Apple in case the Touch ID solution under the display would not work out.

The video of the dummy iPhone 8 was leaked by Benjamin Geskin. It may have the looks of the upcoming Apple flagship but it does not have anything inside, Mashable notes. Although the stainless steel frame of the phone in the video is silver, Geskin previously stated the final version of the iPhone 8 will have a black frame to match the black glass on the back and front.

Geskin is a designer based in Riga, Latvia who says the dummy iPhone 8 on the video was created in China, based on the schematics. He also tweeted a copy of the schematics which included a short message that reads: “Alleged #iPhone8 schematics.” But despite the dummy video, the earliest that the iPhone 8 would launch is about four months from now.
