Samsung Electronics Confirmed The Development Of Galaxy S9 Code Name ‘Star’

Samsung Electronics is now developing the strategic phone Galaxy S9 series, this was said to be released in the first half next year, named as Star. Considering the code name, it is estimated that this smartphone is not a foldable phone expected from the market. It is also worth noting that its development period was earlier than 3 to 4 months.

According to GSM Arena, Samsung Electronics confirmed the standard model codename of the Galaxy S9 series as Star and its large screen model as Star 2. The company puts a code name on the model before they start developing it in earnest. Code names often imply the product's characteristics.

As the Galaxy S9 is now in its early development stage, for now, it is difficult to guess its characteristics of the product just by the code name. Although, it can be inferred that Samsung Electronics is far from a folder that is preparing for commercialization. Galaxy S9 seems to have a big frame, such as the Galaxy S8 will take the same as the new features and innovation to be planned. The company expects to progress with a rear dual camera and a front replacement of fingerprint recognition for the Galaxy S9.

According to Droid Men, consumers must take note that as soon as it will start full-scale development, such as codename designation, it will be accelerated. Samsung Electronics will start developing the Galaxy S series parts which are a strategic phone in 1H, particularly in August to September while the Galaxy Note series of strategic phones will be released in the second half of the year.

Fortunately, the development this year was earlier by three to four months. As a result, parts production will be expected to accelerate about three months. The Galaxy S8 series has begun its mass production from February to March this year, while Galaxy S9 series can be started at the end this year because the development period has been significantly advanced.
