New Surface Pro Offers Way Better Than Any Older Surface Pro Models And Apple’s iPad Pro

Recently, Microsoft announced the new Surface Pro choosing that name than the most speculated name-to-be Surface Pro 5 during a media event in Shanghai, China. The company claims that this new Surface Pro offers up to 13.5 hours of battery life on just a single charge, which is a 50 percent increase over the Surface Pro 4 and 35 percent more battery consistent than Apple's iPad Pro.

Microsoft's notebook-tablet hybrid, the new Surface Pro features Intel's latest Kaby Lake processors that include Core m3, i5, and i7 chips depending on the model. The company claims that the high-end Surface Pro with a Core i7 processor is 2.5x faster than Surface Pro 3 and 1.7x faster than iPad Pro with Apple's own A9X chip.

According to Tech Radar, the Surface Pro m3 and i5 models feature a new fanless cooling design system, while the i7 model still has a fan with improved hybrid cooling. This new Surface Pro has made with a refined design with cleaner curved edges and lines, a visually softer camera, and an improved hinge with a 165-degree range of motion which allows that device to be placed in Studio Mode, similar to Surface Studio desktop.

As sources revealed, the new Surface Pro continues to have a 12.3-inch display with 267 pixels per inch, compared to 264 PPI for both the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Microsoft stated that its custom PixelSense tech means that colors for the new Surface Pro will be more precise, more vibrant, and more impactful than ever before.

According to iT Wire, this new Surface Pro is accompanied by a new Surface Pen with over 4096 pressure points, only 21 milliseconds of latency, and new tilt functionality. Microsoft claims that the new Surface Pro is over two times more accurate, with four times more pressure sensitivity, then the original Surface Pen. The new Surface Pro also features new Signature Type Covers, now designed with Alcantara fabric for a soft velvety feel. By this, Microsoft pitches typing on keyboards as easier, better sound, accurate, more comfortable, and easier to do without looking.

This new Surface Pro and Type Covers are now available to pre-order in the United States and in other market stores including JD.com, BestBuy.com, Microsoft Store, and Microsoft.com. This new Surface Pro will start shipping this coming June 15 in selected 25 countries with a price that starts at $799.99.
