Samsung launched the Galaxy S8 and S8+ flagships recently. It is time for the rugged version Samsung Galaxy S8 Active to enter the mobile tech market. The alleged image of the Galaxy S8 Active smartphone was spotted on the Wireless Power Consortium website. The image reveals the front face details of the smartphone and is expected to arrive soon.
According to The Verge, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active found on the Wireless Power Consortium website is carrying a model number SM-G892A. The device is reportedly similar to the LG G6 smartphone, but with rugged looks.
The alleged Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is seen getting rid of the curved edges, which was seen in the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The screen is flattened up with bezels at the sides and looks very similar to the LG G6-minimum bezel smartphone launched before the Galaxy S8 smartphones. However, the top and bottom bezels remain the same with the exclusion of the physical home button.
According to ieTechnology, the image leaked which is assumed the Samsung Galaxy S8 active indicates that the smartphone will be shipped with an industrial design same as its predecessor-Galaxy S7 Active to take up the extreme environmental conditions.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active appearance on the Wireless Power Consortium website hints that the smartphone will support wireless charging. The camera sensor can be seen placed on the front. It is reported that the device could carry an iris scanner. The power button can be seen placed on the right, while volume rockers keys and a dedicated Bixby button are present on the left face.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active in the image is built very tough with all four of its corners bumped out. The corners are reinforced to absorb shocks at the time when the phone is dropped. The smartphone could also get the US Military Standard (MIL-STD) 810G certifications for ruggedness as obtained by the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy Active phones are built to withstand exposure to high and low temperatures, salt, humidity, and shock. These smartphones usually arrive with bigger batteries, shatter resistant screens, dust and waterproofing features. Stay tuned for more updates.
