Experts Share Tips For MacBook Users With Battery Problems

One reason why laptops are popular with users, even if the desktop computer is often more powerful, is because of the laptop’s portability. The ability to work anywhere using a laptop, however, could be hampered by the lack of power, especially in places where there are no electrical outlets to plug a laptop. MacBook experts share tips for laptop owners whose devices suddenly suffer from power lack.

Working on the go requires a fully charged MacBook battery. When the Apple laptop refuses to charge, try first to plug into another electrical outlet, Digital Trends suggests. If assured the power outlets work, check the LED indicators on the charger to see if there is a response. If there is none, borrow a charger of the same kind from a friend.

If using another charger for the same model of a MacBook would not work, the next step is go to an Apple Authorized Service Provider to request that the laptop be tested. If at the service center the MacBook charges, then it is your charger that has a problem. If it still does not, the problem could be either the battery or hardware.

It would also help to check the MacBook’s adaptor if there are tears in the cable or discolored which could be an indicator it is burnt out. Other places to check are the MagSafe connection on the Apple device if there is any dust. Finally, click the battery icon in the Menu bar which could indicate if there is a need to replace the battery itself, MacWorld points out.

Tech Crunch reports that there is an Indiegogo campaign that is another alternative to MacBook power issues. It uses a USB-C charger, three USB-A ports which create a small power hub that doubles as a charger. The device is about the same size as the USB-C charger of Apple for laptops and the same cost too.
