Samsung has been focusing on their security patches after few failures resulting in a temporary chaos. The Galaxy A5 will be the latest model to be hit with May security patches, few months after it was updated to Android 7 Nougat. The update will enhance the performance factor and will fix major security concerns.
Neowin reports the size of the update will be 155MB, smaller when considered to other security patches. Other features enabled for Samsung Galaxy A5 have not been revealed yet. The update will hit European countries first, and will slowly spread out to other continents as well.
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) has been revamped a tad rendering it capable of competing in its own price bracket. The device will be powered by 1.9GHz octa-core processor in addition to Mali-T830MP3 as the GPU. An update earlier in the year saw the device running on Android 7.0 Nougat in place of Android 6 Marshmallow as reported by GSM Arena.
5.2" Super AMOLED capacitive display of Samsung Galaxy A5 will be protected by Corning Gorilla glass 4. Devised to store 32GB while running on 3GB RAM, users can increase it up to 256GB using microSD slot. The snapper quality has been highly raved about as the 16MP rear sensor is loaded with auto detection focus and LED flash.
The front snapper will house 16MP sensor with a f/1.9 aperture. A front mounted fingerprint scanner is incorporated for biometric security. Samsung Galaxy A5 has fared well since its arrival in January, but security issues have pegged back the device's hype somewhat.
The May security patch is expected to fix 65 issues faced by Samsung Galaxy A5. 54 fixes will be enabled as per Google earlier this May, and 11 of them have been triggered by Samsung. Meanwhile, for more updates on Samsung Galaxy A5 stay tuned with us!
