Apple is all set to host its WWDC conference in California starting June 5, wherein the company is expected to highlight all the big features arriving to iOS 11. Apart from software announcements, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the tech giant will make two hardware announcements - one about the much rumored Siri Speaker and the other is about a 10.5-inch iPad Pro 2.
The new iPad model will be joining the existing lineup of 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch Pros, but it won't look like its siblings. The research note from Kuo, according to 9to5Mac, claims that the upcoming 10.5-inch iPad Pro 2 will boast slimmer bezel than the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The well-known KGI analyst also predicted that Apple will ship about 6 million units of iPad Pro 2 this year.
Meanwhile, about the Siri Speaker, Kuo claims that Apple will launch it at WWDC to go against Amazon Echo and Google Home. The rumored device will come with premium audio quality and a much higher price tag than its competitor.
Apple marketing Chief Phil Schiller did stress on his preference of a display screen on smart speakers in one of his interviews. Previous leaks also support the rumor about the Siri Speaker, such as Apple employees were already testing the Siri speaker in their homes, as reported by NDTV.
As a tradition, the WWDC 2017 will host the announcement of new iOS 11, macOS 10.13, tvOS 11 and watchOS 4. Apple's WWDC conference kicks off on June 5 and the event will be streamed live on Apple's website. It will start with keynote if the company unveils the new iPad Pro 2, Siri Speaker and the usual bout of software updates at once. Stay tuned to Droid Report for more update.
