Meizu Pro 7: First Smartphone Likely To Feature MediaTek MT6799 Helio X30 Processor

Meizu, the Zhuhai based Chinese smartphone manufacturer might be working on a new smartphone called as the Meizu Pro 7. Fresh information reveals that the smartphone will be powered by MediaTek MT6799 Helio X30 processor instead of Qualcomm processor.  The phone that has been in rumor radar previously has been leaked now. This time, it is the latest piece of information coming directly by peeking into source code files related to the smartphone.

According to The Android Soul, the MediaTek MT6799 Helio X30 processor was launched at the Mobile World Congress event this year in Barcelona. The Meizu Pro 7 will be the first smartphone to feature this amazing new chipset. The predecessor of this handset-Meizu Pro 6 was also powered by the Helio X25 processor.

It is reported that the leaked code indicates that the Meizu Pro 7 will sport Sony IMX386 and IMX286 image sensors of 12MP each. This might be the first dual rear camera setup smartphone from the company. In addition, the code also suggests that a 16MP selfie snapper powered by Samsung S5K368 sensor will be seen featuring in the phone similar to that of OnePlus 3T and Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) smartphones.

As cited by Phone Arena, the Meizu Pro 7 revealed in the source code suggests another detail that will feature in the smartphone. It is mentioned as 'Dual Display.' It is assumed that it could be the either a secondary screen as seen on HTC U Ultra and LG V series phones or it could be a dual curved edge display or even an 'Always-on' feature. Well, this detail will be known until the company makes the final announcement of the handset.

The predecessor of Meizu Pro 7 was launched last year in April 2016. The Meizu Pro 6 sports a 5.20-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Under the hood, it is powered by Helio X25 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It also packs a 21.16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

There are speculations that the Meizu Pro 7 will arrive with improved specifications and features. However, the leaked details ae not yet confirmed by the company yet. Therefore, readers are requested to take all the details with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more updates.
