Apple has plans that would make the Amazon Prime subscribers undoubtedly happy. It would be launching Amazon Prime video app for its Apple TV soon. The news has come from Buzzfeed's John Paczkowski, who usually comes up with details on Apple's plans ahead of them. Now, as per Paczkowski, Apple would make the announcement on its upcoming event, WWDC.
According to MacWorld, the announcement would most likely take place at WWDC keynote on June 5. This Amazon Prime app would most likely hit the tvOS App Store in the summer. Additionally, retail giant Amazon.com would be selling the Apple TV set-top box once again after remaining banned for at least two years.
Now, as per some earlier reports, both Apple and Amazon had signed an agreement, according to which they would both benefit as streaming media strategies. Apart from this, Apple TV owners having Amazon Prime subscription have another year to renew the membership. Also, Apple gets to put the Apple TV on Amazon selling platform.
There is no doubt that it is a big win for the tech giant, Apple. In 2015, Amazon had banned Apple TV from ist store since it lacked the Amazon Prime Video app, MacRumors reported. During that time Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos even said that Apple didn't offer acceptable business terms to develop Apple tvOS app. Also, the Apple TV users had to had to use Amazon Prime Video iOS app as well as AirPlay to watch the Amazon originals.
As of now, there are tentative plans for the app to be available this summer, however, the official release date hasn't been disclosed yet and it might change. Amazon Prime is one of the popular video streaming services that was absent from Apple TV. Thankfully, the Apple TV owners would soon get access the Amazon Prime Video app on their Apple TV.
