"The Walking Dead" release was again moved to a later date. Overkill's owner, Starbreeze, mentioned that the game might be released during the second half of 2018.
The company didn't reveal the actual reason behind the delay, but it is still trying hard to become the best game. No matter what the reason behind the delay, fans won't be able to see "The Walking Dead" even after it was announced that the game would go under production in 2015.
It can be remembered that in January 2016, the game was again delayed to the second half of 2017; however, the delay was explained to be due to plans of launching the game simultaneously in the Asian markets, Polygon reported. Now, the release date was again pushed back to the second half of 2018.
The series creator, Robert Kirkman, was extremely excited and claimed "from day one on this project it's been clear to me that this is the Walking Dead co-op action game fans have been waiting for. I can't wait for people to learn just what Overkill has been cooking up for this game." According to PC Gamer, the news of the delay was made on the Starbreeze Studio website. Even though the entire site reads in English, only the delay post is in Swedish.
Overkill has already revealed updates about PayDay 2 and has been working on PayDay 3. It seems that this might be one of the reasons for the delay of "The Walking Dead" since they are not only concentrating on this alone. Starbreeze has recently announced that it would bring out the trailer of the video game on May 10. So, it seems the game has a slightly better chance of releasing. Some rumors also suggest that the delay in releasing the game might be to increase its popularity, but then again there are no proofs.
