Malfunctions Were Detected In Google Now & Play Store Due To Some Tests

Google regularly conducts server-side tests that will show new features and UI changed to only a handful of users at a time. However, sometimes these have adverse effects on users. Google has broken the Play Store and Google Now for some users, as a result of two independent server-side tests.

According to Phone Arena, the Play Store test removes everything from the app's home page. Applications can still be searched for and installed, and updating applications work fine at all but the front page is completely blank. There does not appear to be any fix for this right now, if ever a user has it, he/she will be stuck with it until Google figures it out.

Things are not acting properly when using Google Now or the Google Play Store in some Android devices. Reports of issues have been flying across the interwebs and it seems they come as results of the server-side tests. Server-side tests are a way for Google to slowly release new features. The company rolls improvements out to a select amount of users, making sure everything is working properly. Then, they can continue with a complete launch.

According to Google Forums, this time the server-side tests are breaking two of Google's most important Android apps. The Google Play Store issue is causing the homepage to show blank. Well, this is not a huge issue, people can still search, install, and updates apps, but it is truly an annoyance.

Meanwhile, things are a little more serious with the Google Now discrepancies. Cards are malfunctioning, causing an error message to appear on the main screen, as opposed to user's valued information. The affected consumer has also found out that this can be fixed, though. Some tech enthusiasts claim a simple Google Search Data clear will do the job, while others have resorted to uninstalling updates and re-updating.
