HTC U 11, this is likely the name of the brand new flagship smartphone that HTC will announce this month, on May 16. The tech giant has already released a few teasers showcasing bits and parts of the U 11, while also indirectly confirming a rumor; the new smartphone features a squeezable frame, which is Edge Sense.
As reported and revealed by 91 Mobiles and @OnLeaks, which is a very reliable source, said renders are based on factory CAD sketches and show a glossy red variant of the HTC U 11. If the leaked device is believed to be HTC U 11, then the renders should be spot-on, as they are based on CAD (Computer-assisted-design) drawings which leaked either from the factory or from a case maker.
According to the leaked renders, starting with the top a slotted mic-hole in HTC U 11 can be seen. Across from that is a round pinhole for ejecting the SIM/microSD card tray.
On the bottom side of HTC U 11there is a USB-C port, a long slotted speaker grille, much like the Google Pixel's, and two similar holes: one slotted and one pin-hole. One is the in-call mic, however, it is still unsure on what the other would be given its juxtaposition. However, final hardware could vary.
The left edge of HTC U 11 has no buttons or trays, though will be touch sensitive to be able to use HTC's squeezable gestures. Moving on, the right side has the standard HTC layout of hardware keys, the power button is placed just under a volume rocker.
The HTC U 11 has thin bezels on the left and right sides of the screen. As for the overall thinness, it's said that the handset is 8 mm thick at the bottom, and 9.2 mm thick at the top - due to the squeezable frame.
Specs-wise, the HTC U 11 is expected to have Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor, up to 6 GB RAM, and up to 128 GB of expandable internal memory. The new HTC smartphone should further sport a 12 MP rear camera, a 16 MP front-facing snapper, USB Type-C port, and a 3000 mAh battery. Android 7.1 Nougat will be running out of the box, as reported by Phone Arena.
It should be noted that the HTC U 11 is the handset previously presented as HTC Ocean, which explains the similarity between these new renders and the Ocean photos seen last month. However, the official release is expected to come at some point this month.
