Huawei Honor 6X Latest News: May Be Upgraded With EMUI 5.0 & Android 7.0 Nougat

Huawei's other handsets like the P10 and Huawei Mate 9 are already available with the Emotion UI 5.0. The Huawei Honor 6X was launched at the CES this January. Till now, the smartphone had EMUI 4.1 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. However, Honor has recently announced that the Huawei Honor 6X will now be shipped with EMUI 5.0 update based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

As reported by Gadgets 360, The Huawei Honor 6X will be available at $249 and would receive Android Nougat in May. It has a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with 2.5Dcurved glass protection and an impressive fingerprint sensor at the back. Running on a Kirin 655 octa-core processor, it is available in two variants: the 3 GB RAM/32 GB Storage and the 4 GB RAM/64 GB Storage.

 The Honor 6X boasts of a dual-camera setup at the back with a 12 MP camera and a 2 MP sensor below it. The front-facing snapper is of 8 MP. It has a 3340 mAh battery that supports fast charging.

The EMUI 5.0 update based on Android 7.0 Nougat indicates software improvements in security, features, and overall performance in the Huawei Honor 6X. As mentioned in Phone Scoop, the EMUI update will provide a simpler user interface with features like an app drawer and will let the user access the same app from two profiles simultaneously. Also, the EMUI 5.0 offers intelligent features like learning the user's habits and streamlining the interface accordingly.

Huawei says that all existing Huawei Honor 6X handsets should receive the update notification by the end of May. Users of Honor 6X could start manually looking for the update in the Settings to see if the update has arrived.

This update puts the Huawei Honor 6X in line with Huawei's latest smartphones. Users are looking forward to the cleaner and smarter interface and additional features that would be provided by the update.
