LG has been one of the leading companies that offer high-resolution displays. After its Apple-flagship Ultrafine 5K monitor, the company is now set to launch the LG 43UD79-B that comes with a 42.5-inch display and a range of features.

As reported by Digital Trends, the LG 43UD79-B has a 42.5 inch 4K UHD display with 3840x2160 pixels resolution. It has an IPS panel with 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 178-degree viewing angle. The 42.5-inch display has support for over 1.07 billion colors; hence users can expect some serious image quality. A blue-light flicker technology is also expected to minimize eye fatigue.

The refresh rate of the LG 43UD79-B is 60 Hz, which is not much as compared to the latest gaming monitors. However, the monitor does the sport of the Game, Dynamic Action Sync, and the Black Stabilizer modes. The AMD FreeSync support for gamers with Radeon GPUs promises gaming experiences with negligible tears and stutters.

The LG 43UD79-B houses a bunch of features that would appeal to the multitaskers. The Picture-by-Picture (PbP) and Picture-in-Picture (PiP) modes enable the monitor to display four 21.3-inch full HD windows from multiple sources simultaneously. With the Harman Kardon speakers, the 42.5-inch display also doubles as a 4K TV.

At the back of the TV, one can find two HDMI 2.0 ports, two HDMI 1.4 ports, one Display Port 1.2a port with FreeSync as well as a USC-C port. Two USB 3.0 ports provide downstream support. With this wide range of connectivity options, the monitor can be used a split-screen for up to four different devices at a time, says Engadget.

Priced at $745, the LG 43UD79-B offers a range of productivity-oriented and gaming features. It will go on sale in Japan from May 19. However, pre-orders for the device are showing up in the U.S with the price just under $700.
