Valve Goes Transparent, Shows Steam User Figures On Why Customers Need Extra Patience

May 05, 2017 01:36 AM EDT

Valve has had its share of trying to please its customers due to varying concerns. Their customer support leaves a lot to be desired though recent statistics somehow provide an explanation why they have been struggling to make ends meet.

Steam users are unlikely to keep an open mind to try and understand the position of Valve. Startling statistics have recently been shared, a move to show that they are on their heels and trying to accommodate complaints as frequent as possible, PC Gamer reported. Successful as Valve may be, the fact remains that they may need to decide on a couple of business angles – including potentially hiring additional personnel or a better customer support system.

Valve is doing the necessary steps to improve their service. The latest move is a form of transparency, a stats page that would provide a bigger picture on the volume of complaints and requests that the company has to deal with.

The company has to deal with roughly 75,000 requests daily. The good news is that Valve is able to address 90-percent of the concerns even if customers don’t feel they are getting the attention on various matters. Of the 75,000 requests received, about 8,000 are kept in the queue.

Looking at a bigger picture, compounding that left out 10-percent of folks waiting for support will result in larger numbers and hence disappointed clients. Valve has expanded its support staff but the booming business seems to be never-ending.

Valve’s move to put up the stats page is a noble move but Steam users want results. It may take more than the page to gain mature understanding thought the positive out of it all is that Valve is not ignoring the queries for help. Assuming customers get a bigger view, the fact remains that Valve will need to adjust internally to keep their business afloat. Manpower has been tried so it may be time to look at other innovations to improve their Steam service.
