May 04, 2017 05:02 PM EDT

The Apple Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) has officially been announced for 2017 and the kick-off date is just a month away. There are lots of Apple products which are rumored to launch in the said event.

As the name suggests, this Apple event will focus on new software launches and enhancements from Apple and its developers. The event is targeted primarily for developers, but the public can watch WWDC over a live stream all the same. However, WWDC always sees the announcement of some exciting new iOS and MacOS features. WWDC 2016 saw the unveiling of iOS 10, MacOS Sierra, WatchOS 3 and TVOS.

This year Apple WWDC 2017 should offer plenty of excitement, including some expected hardware announcements, which are rare for Apple's summer event. According to Recombu, as always Apple is holding its WWDC event in the month of June. Particularly, WWDC 2017 will start on the June 5 and run until June 9.

The keynote talk provided by Tim Cook will be the launch event, to be held at 10 AM (PST). This is eight hours behind the UK, so you can expect to watch the keynote at 6 pm British time.

Apple WWDC 2017 will be held in San Jose California in 2017, inside the McEnery Convention Center. This is a change from the custom, as WWDC is usually held in San Francisco. This new venue will be right by Apple's new Cupertino complex, and it is also expected that we might see some of the talks and other scheduled events in the Apple HQ also.

Apple will be hosting the WWDC 017 event online with a live stream that anyone can watch. But as always, this stream will be limited to certain methods of viewing.

Lie stream could be watched via the Safari browser on an Apple device, with support for the iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. The user can also catch the event stream on the Apple developer website on a computer.

On the hardware side, Apple may reveal its own smart speaker controlled by Siri, to take on Amazon's Echo and the Google Home. Supposedly powered by Siri and a forked variation of iOS will let user surf the web and control smart home appliances. However, the star of the show will be iOS 11, which is powering the breath and butter of Apple's portfolio, the iPhone, as reported by Phone Arena.

There are also some rumors which say that Apple WWDC 2017 will make Siri a lot smarter as it will score deep contextual learning abilities and better integrate with iMessage and iCloud. Apple's answer to Google Play Music and Spotify has also been updated, and now it looks like it could be in for yet another visual overhaul in 2017.

Apple is also expected to unveil watchOS 4, but sadly, nothing specific as far as features are concerned. Regardless, the Apple Watch experience is expected to be improved.
