Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus that was released in South Korea last month didn't have the full version of Bixby. Even though Samsung's digital assistant offered some features such as Vision, Reminder and Home, it lacked the Voice Control feature right from the beginning. Thankfully, there is a good use for Galaxy S8 users in South Korea.
Samsung Bixby Voice Control feature would now be available for all Samsung Galaxy S8 users in South Korea. The tech giant has already started rolling in the feature through a software update to the flagship device in South Korea, Android Authority reported. This Voice Control feature made available would allow the users to control several apps through voice such as setting reminders, opening apps and more. The apps that presently support Bixby command include Contacts, Phone Settings, Gallery, Camera App and more.
Interestingly, the app works similarly like Google Assistant that is available in Samsung Galaxy S8 series. Even though the Bixby Assistant is available in South Korea, it is not yet available in the US. However, according to The Verge, the tech biggie has said it would make it available to the flagship device across the US later this spring. But again, the company has not revealed any date as when the users can expect the update.
Following the US release as mentioned later this spring, the Bixby Assistant would then make its way to other countries across the globe. However, another report suggests it would release in Germany in the later quarter of the year. As of now, both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus has been selling well across South Korea and US.
In Samsung's own country, the Galaxy S8 devices had received over one million pre orders. However, in the US both these devices have received pre orders that were 30 percent higher than that of Galaxy S7. The users need to wait to see how the developers make the most of the voice assistant's capabilities.
