Apr 30, 2017 07:15 PM EDT

Nintendo Switch's one the exclusive additions to "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" is the smart steering option. It's very helpful tool for younger players who are in trouble staying the course without bumping into walls or falling off.

According to Kotaku, booting up "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" for the first time is that players might recognize their kart that steers by itself. Instead of giving people the chance to decide whether or not they want to use smart steering, Nintendo made the option to turned it on automatically.

"Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" smart steering makes the game playable with nothing more than A button in the console. For those who never played Mario Kart before, this is a decent feature for leveling the playing field. However, smart steering is a feature that most players will want to turn off.

In order to do that, users may Pause the game at any point mid-race. Then, a menu will pop up that shows the controls along with a set of extra features that can be disabled or enabled. Users can tap the smart steering option, or they can press L button to shut it off even more quickly, as noted by CNET. It will be noticeable that there are two other optional features in there, but it's up to player's decision to use the auto-accelerate along with tilt controls.

It is okay and acceptable for anyone who wants to keep "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" smart steering on, developers made it support younger players in the game. However, smart steering does eliminate the extra purple-colored boost gained while drifting which makes it harder to take neat shortcuts.

Players who have played enough Mario Kart over the years have acquired enough control knowledge of the game. By this, players want to control and maneuver kart racers as much as possible.
