Acer’s New Holo 360-Degree Camera Could Turn Into Smartphone Whenever & Wherever

Apr 29, 2017 06:43 PM EDT

Acer will unveil the new Holo 360-degree camera, primarily to capture 3D content, but can turn into a smartphone when needed. With LTE support and WiFi connectivity, one can make calls and use it as a normal mobile phone as well.

Acer seems to go all cylinders blazing with a newly found intent to be global tech leaders. Their innovation to seize the Virtual Reality market seems to make inroads. The Holo 360-degree camera is a standard camera which will snap any 3D form. The twist in the tale begins here.

PCWorld unveiled Acer's plan; the Holo 360-degree camera will not only take pictures but will work as a Smartphone, handy and a little complicated. There is no doubt that the blunt design will make it a tad hard for users to make it work like a Smartphone. However, this reduces one's headache as they can carry the camera and ditch their individual mobile phones.

One should not get overzealous and ditch their phone right away. There are still doubts regarding its functioning as a fully fledged Smartphone. Cellular networks have their own code of working and some countries might not support this as a Smartphone.

As per Android Authority, the information on the chipsets is still unavailable, but there is no doubt that this camera will work as an Android phone. Calls can be made and there will be no need to transfer videos or posts. One can simply upload whatever they wish from the camera itself. Acer seems to be content with an informal release.

No official press release has been issued and the curious onlookers seem to be guessing the price of this Camera-cum-Phone. Acer is expected to launch or at least make a formal statement regarding the product after the product has caused such uproar.

The launch date is undeclared and there could be a possibility that people might have to bid goodbye to 2017 before the product is launched. Positive reviews along with the usual negative ones have started to pour in and Acer's unclear position seems to have upped the ante.
