‘Alien: Isolation 2’ Latest News & Update: Developer Creative Assembly In Now On The Verge Of Making A Game Sequel

Recently, reports have been stated that the game developer Creative Assembly might finally start the development for the upcoming "Alien: Isolation 2." Creative Assembly's team has wrapped up work on "Halo Wars 2." And considering the recent acquisition of "Crytek Black Sea," the game developer might finally have the manpower and resources to turn their focus on developing a new game from the Alien franchise.

According to Euro Gamer, previous reports originated from a quote that will supposedly be included in the speculation mill section of next month's official PlayStation Magazine issue 135, as the full quote says their source told them that after work was done on "Halo Wars 2," a new Alien game may start its development over at Alien Isolation dev Creative Assembly.

However, the quote in the upcoming magazine didn't specify that the developer will be working on the sequel to 2014's "Alien Isolation," it was stated a new game based on the film franchise may be in development in the near future. "Alien: Isolation 2" was well-received by most gamers and critics. Although, the game was not a blockbuster, having sold only 2.1 million across the Europe and United States as of March 2015, which the game publisher Sega was not happy but they're still planning for a game sequel.

According to PlayStation Universe, the idea of a sequel to Isolation has already been discussed since 2015. Studio director Tim Heaton claimed that a sequel to the critically-acclaimed game was not out of the question. Another video game set in the "Alien" universe seems like an inevitability, in the long run, the decision to green-light the sequel to "Alien: Isolation" will have to come down to its potential for profitability. Hence, although Sega has not dismissed the idea of a sequel, the company has not committed to it either because of the commercial sales of its predecessor.

"Alien: Isolation 2" was still full of speculations at the moment and no estimated date has been officially released yet. Players can first play the original game "Alien: Isolation," at PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
