Previous reports last week claimed that Google added some mysterious references to a device type called Bisto in the 7.0 version of the Google app. However, Google again confirmed that they all removed the reference to Bisto.

According to Android Police, Bisto was a device type listed deep in the app's strings.xml file alongside with other major platforms like Google Home, Pixel, Phone, Android Wear, and Android TV. Tech enthusiasts found referenced Google Assistant and the option for Spoken Notifications which can be read aloud inside their headphones. By this, Bisto would have some kind of notifications that aren't spoken. Now, all these references have simply been removed without a trace. The removal of strings referencing Bisto is perhaps one of the more notable changes in this update.

Good news is that there are other changes that feature the 7.1 version of the Google apps such as the Search Bar in Notifications which also mentions a quick search bar in the notification panel; Typing in Assistant that Google is now working on a way for users to enter queries for Google Assistant with the keyboard. 7.1 version of the Google apps also includes New Icons, one of which was called ic_pollen_count. This would suggest that perhaps Google is preparing the Google app to provide smart pollen count information.

Meanwhile, there are also two new silhouettes for what appears to be a headset and an Android Wear smartwatch. According to Android Authority, 7.1 version of the Google apps also features the Delete Assistant history which appears that Google is working on adding the ability to easily delete Google Assistant history directly from the Google app as well; Users activity can make Google services more useful, such as better commute options in Maps and quicker results in Search and deleting users' Assistant history will not affect transactions or undo actions.

Another thing new for Google apps 7.1 version is the Assistant Shortcuts which let consumers create faster and easier ways to do things. These features are all simple ones, but surely be valuable to millions of users around the world.
