Vice President at Xiaomi, Wang Xiang, has said that the company has no plans of releasing the Xiaomi Mi6, US or Europe. In India, Xiaomi will launch something else, something that is unknown yet, anything but the Mi 6.
As per an interview with Engadget, Wang Xiang says that Xiaomi is looking to focus on the 30 countries it currently serves and has its hands full trying to operate and expand in those countries only. VP has also confirmed that the Xiaomi has no plans of launching the Xiaomi Mi6 in the US or Europe.
Xiang also notes that the engineers cannot afford the time to do the exact testing required for a US launch to ensure compatibility with all carriers. However, Xiang did not completely put the lid on US release of Xiaomi Mi6 hopes and told CNET in another interview that a US launch is on the cards in the next two years i.e. by 2019.
In the other news, sources have also confirmed to India Today Tech that they will not launch its flagship Xiaomi Mi6 phone in India either. There could me many reasons why Xiaomi is not launching the Xiaomi Mi6 in India. Some of Xiaomi phones would be too expensive to sell in India, and Xiaomi isn't ready to take that road yet. In future, it would be perhaps, but not currently.
The publication also suggests that Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Mi Note 3 and the Mi Mix 2. However, their predecessor phones did not make it to India, chances are either one of these could land in India soon enough.
The Xiaomi Mi6 was launched in China last week. The big highlights of the phone are its sleek design, the dual camera setup at the back, and the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. While in US, India and Europe users will have to wait it out to bag Xiaomi phones for a few more years.
