iOS 10 has been notorious for a lot of things and a new bug has been discovered. The problem involves the Control Center, a bit similar to an old issue called “effective power.” Though not severe, the new bug reportedly leaves Apple devices in a frozen state when a user uses three fingers to tap them all at once.
The problem was first raised by AmiciApple, a bug that seems to affect all iOS versions – including iOS 10.3.2 beta. To check, one just needs to head on to the Control Center and select one option from the bottom bar. Those could be one of the Alarm Clock, Calculator, Camera options plus the Night Shift and AirDrop buttons. Using all three fingers tapping on them will result in a frozen device but only for a few seconds before running back to normal. If it does not, a reboot should restore the device back to normal.
The iOS Control Center bug is something that can be done only on purpose, meaning it is a minor problem to worry about. Hence, the “effective power” bug which came out in 2015 is still way more serious. For the benefit of those who are not familiar with it, the “effective power” text caused a device to reboot when received.
The Apple operating system has been plagued by problems ever since. That included the Safari links which forced iOS to crash and a slight nudge from the “effective power” –type text earlier this year, 9 to 5 Mac reports. Fortunately, the 2017 issue was not as serious as the one back in 2015.
Curious folks can try to do the celebrated iOS Control Center bug but at their own risk. If not, check out the video below to get a better picture on the freezing issue for iPhones, iPads and iPods.
