‘Clash of Clans’ Latest News & Update: Shipwreck Finally Confirmed! New Feature to Roll Out in May 2017?

Apr 25, 2017 05:47 PM EDT

After months of speculations, the Shipwreck feature for "Clash of Clans" is reportedly rolling out in May 2017. This update is pegged to be the biggest one ever as Supercell introduces a never-before-seen feature in the history of the game while also possibly changing the dynamics of the game.

According to the All Clash, Galadon (@GaladonGaming) and Powerbang (@PowerbangGaming) have played the new Shipwreck feature. These two noted YouTube personalities also posted on Twitter what they thought about the newest "Clash of Clans" feature.

It can be recalled that Supercell invited a number of "Clash of Clans" YouTube personalities in its headquarters in Finland last March 2017. Supercell has had a history of doing this. Presumably, the gathering means that they are testing out new features yet to be introduced in the game, or a major tweak is about to happen. This time though, it seems that the Shipwreck feature will finally see the light.

Rumors and speculations about the Shipwreck feature have been circulating around the online community since last year's Halloween Event. Most "Clash of Clans" fans expected the Shipwreck feature to roll out during the supposedly massive December 2016 update. While Supercell indeed rolled out a decent update, it wasn't the update most players were waiting for.

While Supercell has been tight-lipped about the update, the game developer did drop a hint, via Twitter, that it is preparing for a bigger update and the studio is "not quite ready yet." Couple it with the fact that Supercell, via its official "Clash of Clans" update thread, confirmed that the update "will be unique from any update, and it's huge," and with Galadon and Powerbang seemingly confirming the Shipwreck feature is on its way, fans can expect huge changes within the game.

The downside is that Supercell also confirmed that it is still working on the update and sneak peeks are not expected to arrive this week. However, as "Clash of Clans" news update coming directly from Supercell is about as rare as a raindrop in the desert, this development is a welcome one and fans could forgive the studio for the delay. As long as Supercell delivers, that is.

While the May 2017 launch date is still not confirmed, it is highly likely that the Shipwreck feature would be launched during this month. After all, these YouTube personalities are hyped up after supposedly playing a test version of the Shipwreck feature. It could mean that Supercell only has minor tweaks to deal with. And when that's done, it's happy times again for "Clash of Clans" players.
