New updates state that EK is now taking pre-orders for its first AMD Ryzen water block. EK recently announced its first AM4-based monoblock, which is specially made for Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero motherboard. The company states that the new water block which is known as EK-FB ASUS C6H RGB Monoblock, is the first water block for an AMD Ryzen mobo - Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero.

According to reports, the new EK-FB Asus C6H RGB monoblock is a CPU and motherboard liquid cooling solution for the ROG Crosshair VI Hero. The AMD Ryzen water block supports all current Ryzen processor and also features an integrated 4-pin RGB LED strip that can be used on Asus' Aura Sync utility because it is exclusively created for the use of a single Asus model.

According to PCGamer, the developer stated that the new monoblock is designed in collaboration with Asus but it is based on EK's Evo cooling engine. The report also states that the AMD Ryzen water block directly delivers the cooling solution to not only the CPU socket but also to the neighboring power regulation (MOSFET) module.

"Liquid flows directly over all critical areas, providing the enthusiasts with a great solution for high and stable overclocks. Like with every EK monoblock, EK-FB ASUS C6H features high flow design and this monoblock can be easily used with the system using a weaker water pump as well," EK says.

According to Tech Report, the new AMD Ryzen water block is made from a block of copper and coated with corrosion-resistant nickel plating with the top of the plate made of transparent acrylic. EK says the cooler introduces a new cold plate that has been redesigned so as to improved its mechanical contact with the integrated heat spreader (IHS) on AMD's Ryzen processors and APUs.

The developer also stated that the AMD Ryzen water block also delivers the cooling solution to both the CPU and the power delivery section of the motherboard. It utilizes a high-flow design that would possibly allow compatibility with weak fluid pumps, according to EK. Meanwhile, the RGB LED-lit strip cover included in the water block can be removed in order to change its orientation or even for it to be replaced with a custom part.
The new AMD Ryzen water block is now available for pre-order on EK's website for €120 including VAT which is about $130. But shipments is not expected to commence until May 12, 2017.
