Samsung has announced the launch of the refreshed version of the Galaxy J Series in 2017. Recently, the Galaxy J3 (2017) was spotted on Geekbench running on an Exynos 7570 processor.
So far, the progress of the refreshed J series has been quite impressive. The updated J5 has cleared FCC and the J7 (2017) is already available on Sprint as the J7 Perx. However, the company has not indicated the launch of any new versions of the J1 or the J2.
A benchmark listing by Geekbench has revealed the Galaxy J3 (2017) with the model number SM-J330 to be powered by Samsung's own Exynos 7570 chipset. SamMobile further says the listing shows 2 GB of RAM coupled with 16 GB of internal storage and 2600 mAh battery. The listing also confirms that the Smartphone would be running on Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box.
As per previous leaks, the Galaxy J3 handset is to feature a 5-inch display with 1080x720 pixel resolution. Users can expect a 12-megapixel snapper at the back and a 5-megapixel secondary camera, along with Mali-T720 graphics processor.
According to Gadgets Desk, the Galaxy J3 had been roaming certification authorities since May 2016. This delay had probably led to the change in the processor of the handset to the Exynos 7570 chipset from the previously believed Snapdragon 430. However, a handset with model number SM-J327 had also been spotted before. Hence, the case might also be that both variants of the Galaxy J3 (2017) exist simultaneously.
Nevertheless, the quad-core chip of Samsung is preferred over others as it uses an efficient 14nm FinFET manufacturing process. If one can get an idea of the Exynos 7570 chipset by the Exynos 7870 in Samsung J7 (2017), the J3 (2017) could be a champion in battery performance.
Samsung is yet to announce the exact date of the launch of its refreshed J series. However, reports say it should not be long before the company rolls out the 2017 versions of the Galaxy J7, Galaxy J5, and Galaxy J3.
