Logitech’s Ultimate Ears Boom and Megaboom gets a new beta app integrated with Alexa Voice Assistant. This isn’t surprising since the Logitech audio accessories already received Google Voice support and Siri last year. This app will be very useful, especially for loyal Alexa voice assistant users.
According to Android Community, both Ultimate Ears device will finally get an Alexa voice assistant in the new beta app. Users can now access their favorite media source or music gallery and stream music with Alexa’s help. Logitech released two beta apps for UE and it specifically caters to Megaboom and Boom owners. And since both apps are still in beta mode, it is expected that users will experience issues and bugs in the first few months.
With the new beta apps, users can quickly activate their UE at a touch of a button. From switching playlist, searching for a track, or even ordering pizza, users can do anything with their Alexa through the new UE apps. It also supports different music services including Amazon Music Unlimited, Amazon Music, Amazon Prime Music, iHeartRadio, Audible, and TuneIn.
It is important to note though that the app is still in beta mode. And as expected from beta apps, bugs and glitches are due to happen. If users have previously used Siri or Google Assistant in the app, it will automatically disable both to activate Alexa. According to Android Police, the alarm feature may be affected since Logitech implemented some changes.
Ultimate Ears or UE is a custom in-ear monitor, earphone and speaker manufacturer in California. It is founded by Jerry and Mindy Harvey in 1995 and created a new market for IEMs. In 2008, the company was acquired by Logitech in a $34 million deal.
