Huawei, Chinese Smartphone Manufacturer has quietly released a new phone dubbed as Huawei Nova Smart in Europe. There will be two variant of this device, the unlocked version or contract edition.
It is discovered that Huawei Nova Smart is the renamed version of Huawei Enjoy 6S, which also boasts the same specs. The Smartphone is categorized as a mid-range phone which runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow Operating System.
Huawei Nova Smart measures a 5-inch HD display screen with a resolution of 1280 with 720p alongside a 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage that can be expanded via microSD (up to 128GB). Huawei's latest device is powered by Qualcomm octa-core Snapdragon 435 System-on-Chip (SoC) clocked at 1.4GHz.
Although the specs are pretty good, customers think that the Android OS used is pretty old comparing to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat or the soon-to-release Android 8.0 Oreo. Huawei Nova Smart runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow Operating System with Huawei's EMUI 4.1 on top.
The Shenzen-based tech giant reveals that Huawei Nova Smart is also equipped with a 13-megapixel single-lens camera setup and a standard LED flash on the back panel as well as a 5-megapixel selfie cam with a conventional lens. In terms of battery capacity, this mobile is fueled with 3,020 mAh power supply.
According to AndroidHeadlines, the fingerprint scanner for Huawei Nova Smart is located right below the rear camera. This, surely, isn't good news since customers might mistakenly press the camera lens instead of the fingerprint sensor.
Huawei Nova Smart is priced at €200 or $215 for regular unlocked version but will become cheaper if buyers purchase the contract version with a subscription plan for local telecoms, as reported by GSMArena. This Smartphone is also available in the European Union under the name Honor 6C for a similar price tag. Based on that cost and the fact that this is a mid-range device, customers shouldn't expect to get a software update to bring the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
