New Render Of Alleged Honor 9 Makes Second Appearance Online

Apr 22, 2017 11:05 AM EDT

New updates reveal that an alleged photo of Honor 9 has been spotted with another paint job. An image of a device suspected to be the Honor was spotted online few day ago and now, another similar photo has made an appearance online.

When compared to the Honor 8, it is reported that the new device in the first image has a tapered glass at both the edges and the front for improved ergonomics but with subtle curves. The alleged photo of the honor 9 also shows that the position of the fingerprint scanner has been changed as it now appears under the display and looks more like that found on Huawei P10, according to Metroble.

However, the reports state that if the render about moving the fingerprint scanner to the front on the Honor is to be considered, it invariably means that the developer would have to dispense with the "Smart Key" used in completing actions like launching applications, taking shots, and flashlight. Meanwhile, from the specs deducted from the render, it is said that the new device is not very different from the current Honor 8 considering the positions of the dual camera setup, earpiece, front-facing camera, and the proximity sensor.

The position and power keys of the device are also identical to that of Honor 8 and the device would likely not have an IR-blaster. It is concluded that the render could either be fake or that of a new variant of the Honor 8 smartphone. The new render of the alleged Honor 9 on the other hand, also has tapered glass on the edges of the back glass and a slightly tapered edge of the display. But the front of the new device is said to have white bezels and light purple color on the rear, according to GSMarena.

The report also stated that the device showcased in the leaked image is very similar to Xiaomi Mi 6. Although Huawei is yet to reveal any official update about the current state of the rumored Honor 9, many fans are expecting the developer to launch the device around August, as the latest device in the Honor series was launched in August last year.
