NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released on Thursday the fifth and final Shattered Alliance trailer for “Injustice 2.” Contrary to expectations of fans, the focus of the trailer is not a pure fight between Batman and Superman. Rather, Brainiac is introduced as the supervillain of the game.

PlayStation Lifestyle reports that the teaser for Brainiac describes him as a megalomaniacal genius who roams the universe in “Injustice 2.” He goes around to collect knowledge that would boost Brainiac’s intellectual and scientific prowess. As part of Brainiac’s obsession with establishing his superiority, he captured the greatest cities of Krypton. Brainiac thought he had eradicated what remained of Krypton but he is now hunting for Superman on Earth.

The new trailer for “Injustice 2” shows Brainiac arriving on Earth. He plans to take over the humans’ planet, according to Screen Rant. Because he has a deadly plan and has no qualms wiping out all forms of life for him to achieve his obsession and establishing superiority, Brainiac promises “no remorse, no prisoners, no survivors.”

Since he is the new threat to Earth, the Man of Steel and Dark Knight set aside their differences and team up again to fight the new supervillain. Heavy adds that Earthlings have a right to be paranoid in “Injustice 2” because the heroes they trust are actually crazed and power-hungry dictators. But they would discover their biggest fear is Brainiac who has Supergirl shaking in her boots over his threat to the planet.

On Friday, April 28, there would be another character reveal for the Shattered Alliances trailer of “Injustice 2.” The game would release on May 16 in North America and May 19 in Europe for Xbox One and PlayStation. Even if the release is about a month away, there are speculations that the development of the game is complete and it has gone gold after Ed Boon, NetherRealm director, changed his Twitter background to gold.
