Nintendo Direct may have caused quite a stir, most of the focus of which was on the Nintendo Switch. But there were other products that did have some updates too like the Nintendo 3DS. The handheld still has a bunch of games lined up such as “Kirby,” “Pikmin” and “Monster Hunter.”
“Hey! Pikmin” is set to come out on July 28 together with a themed amiibo. Coming alongside it is “Monster Hunter Stories,” a game that has already made its mark over in Japan. “Kirby” will be celebrating its 25th anniversary and will come out with a pair of games. These are “Team Kirby Clash Deluxe” and “Kirby’s Blowout Blast.”
Another game that will make its debut for the Nintendo 3DS is “Miitopia.” This is a custom RPG that will place “Miis” in the spotlight. The game can be played with friends and enemies where they can bicker and fight, ultimately resulting in mayhem gaming later this year, Engadget reported. Other game titles worth mentioning include “Bye-Bye Boxboy!,” “RPG Maker Fes” and “Culdcept.”
Quietly, the fact that more games loom over the horizon clearly shows that Nintendo has not totally given up on the Nintendo 3DS, Slash Gear reported. Despite the record-breaking sales of the Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo 3DS is still one of the stable gaming platforms for the Japanese game maker.
Nintendo recently released a system update (Version 11.4.0-37), a minor update that brings in minor adjustments and stability. The update for the Nintendo 3DS may not be much but it does address the security issues tied up to the handheld. That includes a workaround on “safehax” for arm9 code execution that was prevalent on version 11.3.
Rounding up the games and the updates, the Nintendo 3DS will continue to live on. Some of the games for the Nintendo Switch come from the handheld so it could be eventually used as a measuring stick to make sure that games can be played on both platforms. The measure could aid in determining the hiccups which occur on differing game platforms.
