A full set of press/marketing slides for the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 500 series refresh have leaked ahead of its scheduled launch on April 18th. The leaked presentation slides are showing a bit more details for the entire series, including RX 580, RX 570, RX 560 and the RX 550.
According to slides, which are leaked over at Japanese Jisakutech.com site and spotted by Videocardz.com, AMD Radeon RX 500 series cards are simple rebrands, with some development in the clock department, except for the RX 560 tat got a fully enabled GPU. AMD also switched to dual-fan reference coolers, instead of usual blower-style ones.
Calling it the "Polaris Evolved", the AMD Radeon RX 500 series starts with the RX 580. The Radeon RX 580 packs 36 Compute Units (CUs), for a total of 2304 Stream Processors, based on the same Polaris GPU as the RX 480. It still comes with 8GB of GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit interface and comes with 1257MHz GPU base clock and 1340MHz GPU Boost clock, somewhat higher than the RX 480.
According to Digital Trends, the AMD Radeon RX 570 is the same as the RX 470, which packs 32 CUs for 2048 Stream Processors, however works at a bit higher 1168MHz GPU base and 1244MHz GPU Boost clocks. The reference version of the card is having 4GB of GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit memory interface and is marketed as the best card for maximum 1080p gaming,.
As reported by Fudzilla, AMD Radeon RX 560 gets a fully permitted Polaris 11 GPU with 1024 Stream Processors. The card provides a healthy boost in performance compared to the RX 460.
The last member in the AMD Radeon RX 500 series refresh is the Radeon RX 550, which features 8 CUs or 512 Stream Processors, 1183MHz GPU Boost clock and 2GB of GDDR5 memory on the same 128-bit memory interface. This might be a completely new chip which is targeted to the casual gamers or those looking to build a 4K.
For the official release of the AMD Radeon RX 500 series, it is expected to happen on Tuesday 18th April, according to Hexus. However, there is no official word on the price but the previous rumors and leaks have suggested that these should be priced similarly to the Radeon RX 400 series.
