LG U+ Pad 8 Exclusively Launched In Korea; LTE And GPS Supported

LG-owned South Korean carrier, LG U+ has exclusively launched a new tablet. The entry-level tablet, LG U+ Pad 8 is reported to be priced at KRW 242,000 and is now being sold across the country through retail outlets. LG has been launching mid-range tablets under its Gpad series unlike Samsung, Apple and Huawei.

As reported by GSM Arena, the LG U+ Pad 8 has 4,000 mAh battery capacity that should give users 6 hours of usage. It sports a massive 8-inch WUXGA screen display with 1920 x 1200 pixels offering a 16:10 aspect ratio. The LG U+ Pad 8 is also reported to have LTE connectivity along with dual-band Wi-Fi. There is also a built-in GPS receiver included in the LG U+ Pad 8. However, the FM radio seemed to be an unwelcome addition.

Further information from Phone Radar claim that the LG U+ Pad 8 comes with a 2GB of RAM with 16GB storage. A MicroSD slot is included for storage expansion up to another 64GB. When it comes to the camera, the LG U+ Pad 8 sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front shooter. The LG U+ Pad 8 measures 215 x 122.9 x 9.85 mm and weighs 350 grams. Running on Android 7.0 Nougat, it also comes with a MediaTek MT8783 Octa-Core processor at 1.3HGz.

No news as of yet if we are to see the LG U+ Pad 8 in international markets. However, there are rumors that LG might launch the same tablet under a new name. LG had launched in December 2016 the high-end LG G Pad III 10.1 tablet. It came with a much bigger 10.1-inch display having the same WUXGA resolution as the LG U+ Pad 8. It also sported a 5MP shooter both on its front and back. Further features and specifications of the forthcoming tablet will be announced once it officially gets released.
