OnePlus 5 Leaks, Specs Update: Chinese Certification Reveals Official Model Number A5000 And Name

OnePlus' next smartphone have just got its name confirmed, it will reportedly be OnePlus 5. A OnePlus device with the model number A5000 has been surfaced in the database of China's Radio Regulation Authority.

The news is confirmed when a new smartphone has surfaced on China's Radio Regulation Authority which confirms the name of the device as OnePlus 5 and Model number A5000. Apart from the name and model number, we can also see information about different wireless bands which are supported by OnePlus 5  and other details such as EIRP, as per Android Pure.

On the other hand, Krispitech Twitter page also leaks some information regarding OnePlus 5. It shows the wireless specs for the device. The model number spotted is A5000. For refresh, the original OnePlus One phone had the model number A0001, followed by the OnePlus 2 with the A2000 model number and, the OnePlus 3 used the A3000 model number. So it is rumored that this model number refers to OnePlus 5 only, according to Android Authority.

With OnePlus 5's official model number reveal, the rumors about the company skipping the number "4" from its lineup due to tetraphobia have pretty much been confirmed. The Chinese regulatory listing doesn't reveal anything about the OnePlus 5's specs, however.

According to GSM Arena, we go by past rumors the OnePlus 5 is said to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chipset, aided by 6 or 8GB RAM. It will boast a 5.5-inch QHD touchscreen with small bezels and up to 256GB of storage, with a 3,000 mAh battery support, all packed into a 7mm thin frame.

The main camera of OnePlus 5 is said to be a 23MP unit, while the display may be of the dual-curved variety. Since OnePlus will probably unveil the phone during the summer so it is expected to see more leaks soon.
