Sprint HTC One M9 is now receiving Android 7.0 Nougat Update. The latest update was confirmed by a tweet and an HTC release that details the update is now on its way to the Sprint variant of the HTC One M9.
The One M9 wasn't a particularly successful phone for HTC; however, that doesn't mean owners should be left in the lurch. Sprint and HTC are sending out an Android 7.0 Nougat update to this smartphone. The latest update is 1.02GB in size.
Confirmation of the Android 7.0 Nougat update to Sprint HTC One M9 is coming from a screenshot of the system update information that was tweeted to developer @LlabTooFeR by Twitter user @TerinHuber. However, HTC has yet to officially announce the update on the HTC One M9 support page and HTC's Vice President of Product Management Mo Versi, who typically tweets about such updates, hasn't mentioned it either. This might be the first glimpse of it online, as per Android Authority.
According to Android Police, the Android 7.0 Nougat update on Sprint comes with version number 4.27.651.4; along with Android 7.0 Nougat, it also includes an Android security patch level up to February 2017. You can probably have the general idea of Android 7.0 Nougat by now that includes split-screen apps, customizable quick settings, and more. The HTC One M9 update also includes vague "system performance enhancements."
Owners of the Sprint HTC One M9 should now have the update waiting on their smartphone. In case, if the prompt is not showing, users can manually check for the update by going to 'Settings', then to 'System updates', followed by 'HTC software update', and 'Check now,' as per Android Headlines.
There's also a full RUU download for this update available on the HTC website. As is usually the case with an update, Company recommends HTC One M9 owners ensure the environment for updating their device is most favorable.
