Just after AT&T and Sprint, Verizon Wireless has just now started rolling out Android Nougat updates to its Samsung Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+. First pointed out by a tipster, information for each is now live on the Verizon website.
The latest update to the Verizon Galaxy Note5 & Galaxy S6 Edge+ not just the usual bug fixes and security updates this time around. However, this release finally brings Verizon devices up to speed with the 7.0 version of Android, promising "a fresh, simple user interface" and new customization options.
According to Android Police, the Verizon Galaxy Note5 will be getting a bump up to software version number NRD90M.N920VVRU3CQB9 and the Verizon Galaxy S6 edge+ will be getting NRD90M.G928VVRU3CQB9. However, Verizon doesn't necessarily post the update sizes, but it should be a big one since it is Nougat and does include Samsung's latest TouchWiz skin too.
After the update to the Verizon Galaxy Note5 & Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note5 get features like more done with the most advanced S Pen, create gifts, get instant translations or send messages with the new AIR command and edit & markup PDFs using the S Pen. However both Galaxy Note5 & Galaxy S6 Edge+ devices get, the new battery management page helps maximize your charge, easier multitasking, including split screen, new Effects preview screen, performance Mode to Improve your device performance whenever you need to and updated keyboard and improved language predictions.
Samsung has been gradually releasing the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update to more and more handsets recently, and its rollouts show no signs of slowing down. As usual, though, all of them are probably staged, which means it may take a few days for the update notification to arrive on your Verizon Galaxy Note5 & Galaxy S6 Edge+ device, says GSM Arena.
