Seventeen days to the roll out of Nintendo’s new title, “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” the company released on Wednesday a new trailer for the game. The title would be released on Nintendo Switch. According to the trailer, as the biggest “Mario Kart” game to date, one of the options of gamers is to race one of the more than 40 characters.

Characters From Other Nintendo Titles

The “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” trailer features Metal Mario and other external characters. They include “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s” Link and Inkling from “Splatoon,” GameRant reports. Besides the wide range of characters involved, the new game would also feature a solid roster of tracks. In the amped-up version of the original Wii U release, there are 48 tracks that players could enjoy.

For multiplayer, when “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” debuts on Nintendo Switch, the flexibility of the new game console would be demonstrated. It has a split screen local multiplayer for four gamers. Two-player split screen action is allowed if the tabletop mode of Nintendo Switch is used. The new game features a Battle Mode that was omitted during the first release of “Mario Kart 8.”

Pre-Order Discounts

According to BGR, “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” could still be pre-ordered at Amazon. If the player is an Amazon Prime subscriber, there is a 20 percent discount for the upcoming game. The price cut would reduce the selling price of the new title between $47.99 and $59.99.

Trusted Review cites a listing by Amazon Germany that the digital download of “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” would eat 6.75GB on Nintendo Switch. It is about half of the switch’s launch game, “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” which uses 13.4GB. The new game would take up 20 percent of the Nintendo Switch’s 32GB of internal storage.

Brett Phipps, the games editor of Trusted Reviews, who tested “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” in early 2017, says, “Rather than being the definitive version of Mario Kart 8, Deluxe feels more like the definitive culmination of portable and console Mario Kart games, and that’ll probably be reason enough for me to buy it again.”
