Microsoft Surface Book 2 Specs, Rumors, Release Date: Top-Class Laptop is Unlikely to Launch at October Event

Tech enthusiasts have been waiting with bated breath for the upcoming Microsoft Surface Book 2. Unfortunately, several reports claim that the top-class laptop will not be arriving this year, but the specs and features for the same are still surfacing on the internet.

Microsoft's upcoming laptop computer is highly unlikely to make an appearance in time for the company's October spring event that is slated to take place this month. Apparently, the Redmond-based tech giant is on the edge of unveiling a different hardware, instead, as per Express.

On the happier side, Microsoft might take advantage of the delayed launch for Surface Book 2 and further beef up the laptop's specs and features. According to NDTV, Surface Book 2 might not arrive until spring 2017, just like Microsoft Surface Phone.

Another report from ZDNet hints that the popular software maker is prepping to hold a hardware event, but the company is in no mood to unveil its long-awaited Surface Book 2. Also, it remains to be seen whether or not the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 makes an appearance at the event.

This has encouraged conversation amongst gadget freaks alike regarding what new hardware will Microsoft wrap-off at its October spring 2017 event. There's a rumor floating around the internet The Verge,  that the tech giant is presently working on a new 13.5-inch Surface Book laptop which will feature a clamshell design, replacing the standard 2-in-1 form factor.

Also, if rumors running rampant are anything to go by, the seventh-generation Kaby Lake chip is nowhere near completion, meaning, the Surface Book 2 release date is definitely not around the corner. However, this didn't stop tech pundits from hazarding all sorts of speculations regarding the Surface Book 2's features. The upcoming laptop is said to offer VR support and upgraded Surface pen. Moreover, TechRadar has reported that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 could boast an enhanced discrete GPU options.

Furthermore, the Surface Pro 2 is rumored to boast higher resolution as compared to its predecessors. Plus, removing the screen from the keyboard is also expected to be less back breaking with the Surface Book 2. For the price the entry level Surface Book 2 could cost $1,299.
