Details of the Moto X (2017) have sprouted online following the release of a video celebrating Motorola USA's 44th anniversary. The Moto X (2017) allegedly made a brief appearance in the video. However, tech pundits posit the idea that it is actually Motorola's newest E-Series handset, the Moto E4.
According to Digital Trends, details of the Moto X (2017) were leaked online by @OnLeaks in late 2016. While the purported image of the Moto X (2017) resembles the Lenovo Moto Z, the device in question has a 5.2-inch screen length instead of the usual 5.5-inch display of Moto Z. However, another reliable leak source, Evan Blass, suggests that the Moto X (2017) shown in the video might actually be the newest E-Series handset in Motorola's lineup, the Moto E4.

According to GSM Arena, the Moto X (2017), or if Blass is correct, the Moto E4 may already have passed FCC certification under the model number XT1762. The supposed Moto E4 is reportedly going to be equipped with a 2800 mAh battery, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection, and a 16 GB of storage.
Also, the Moto E4 would run on Android 7.0 Nougat. The Moto X (2017) will reportedly sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and a dual SIM slot. The primary camera on Motorola's newest E-series handset would be equipped with a respectable dual 13 MP camera having autofocus and dual-LED flash feature, while the rear camera is rated at 5 MP and has an LED flash.
Again, if the Moto X (2017) is actually the Moto E4, it would feature a front-mounted fingerprint sensor, an accelerometer sensor, a gyro sensor, a proximity sensor, and a compass. The bevy of high-end features reportedly included in the Moto E4 is certainly good news for Motorola fans especially due to the relatively low price the E-series is being offered.
That said, the Moto E4 sports a number of features that the Lenovo subsidiary would be proud of, and to the delight of fans wanting a quality Android phone that is way cheaper than the high-end smartphones offered by other tech giants. And if the Moto X (2017) is actually the alleged Moto E4, then Motorola would have created a mid-level phone that is relatively powerful, easy on the eyes, and a massively cheaper alternative to the current smartphones available in the market.
However, until the Moto E4 is launched and actually revealed as the Moto X (2017) as leaked by these sources, people should remind themselves that nothing has been confirmed as of yet. While being cautiously optimistic is the way to go with regards to these purported leaks, consumers must still consider whether these leaks can be trusted, after all, these rumors and speculations remain just that until they are confirmed or denied.
