HTC U Ultra Sapphire Edition To Be Made Available Outside Asia For Up To $900

New updates state that Sapphire Edition of the HTC U Ultra will now be available for purchase outside Asia. According to reports, fans who are outside Asia can now purchase the device for up to $900.

The Sapphire Edition of HTC U Ultra was launched by the developer last month in Taiwan. HTC has now announced that the special edition of the device is expected to be available in Europe in just a matter of days. It is reported that the sapphire edition of the HTC U Ultra, unlike the regular version of the device, sports a display with a Mohs hardness of 9.

The display of the Sapphire Edition of the HTC U Ultra features a durable glass that is mostly used for premium watches because of its high resistance to scratches. According to Phone Arena, this is the primary reason why the device is more expensive than the regular version.

The HTC U Ultra, on the other hand, sports a Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 64 GB native storage, and is available in Europe with a price tag of €699 ($750). It also has a 5.7-inch display, 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution, and a 2.05-inch secondary display along with a 160 x 1040 pixel resolution

Meanwhile, the sapphire model features 128 GB of native storage and cost €849 ($900). According to The Verge, the Sapphire Edition of HTC U Ultra is available for grabs in Taiwan for NT$28,900 (up to $946).
The device has a 12-MP rear camera, a 16-MP front camera, front-mounted fingerprint sensor and 3000 mAh battery. The HTC U Ultra runs Android Nougat, and is powered by Snapdragon 821, Quick Charge 3.0 capability and comes in four color variants.

However, it is reported that apart from the durability of the screen and the upgraded storage, the two models of the HTC U Ultra are the same in every other way. The Sapphire Edition of HTC U Ultra is currently available for pre-order in Germany and Switzerland, but the device will not be available for grabs until April 18.
